In his latest book, Marcel does an exceptional job explaining Ubuntu Linux to a user migrating from other operating systems. As with all of Marcel's wrttings, he does this with a fun and easy to understanding style with a bit of pinache thown in. This is a great book for the beginning user. The included dvd allows a user to do the installation while following along with the book. Once installed the book leads a new user through all the applications in the distribution and even on to the command line if desired. Even for some of the more expienced users, this book provides a good information too.
