Fedora Core and Red Hat Enterprise Linux by Mark Sorbell

Fedora, Red Hat's community based distribution, was released in response to the community and enterprise demands being placed on the company. Red Hat had evolved to the point where the enterprise customers wanted longer support for the product, and the open source developers and users wanted more cutting edge software included. So after a very successful release of Red Hat 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 series, Red Hat introduced RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora Core).

This book covers the second milestone release of Fedora Core and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Fedora Core 2 cds are included (all four of them).

Topics covered include most of the common questions most users/administrators will have. There are a few differences in Fedora and RHEL and these are nicely noted throughout the book.

Two items that could use more coverage in the book are MySQL/Postgresql database servers and Postfix/Exim email servers(MTA Mail Transfer Agents). The former weren't mentioned at all. The later are mentioned a small amount but not covered extensively.

Overall, this is a very well written and easy to understand with a good layout throughout the book. It is a must read for anyone running Fedora and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
